Women’s Childcare Committee

Women’s Childcare Committee

Established in 1944 in Beit Jala, this pioneering charitable organization holds the distinction of being the first operational women's society in the city and among the earliest women's associations in Palestine. For nearly eight decades, the Society has dedicated its efforts to advancing the status of women and children through comprehensive educational, health, and social services.

Our Mission

  1. Enhance educational and cultural opportunities for women and children

  2. Create employment opportunities to promote women’s economic independence

  3. Deliver integrated healthcare services to the community

  4. Preserve and protect Palestinian cultural heritage

  5. Provide social support and assistance to low-income families

  6. Organize diverse recreational activities for women and children

Governance Structure

The Society is governed by a nine-member administrative board elected by an 80-member General Assembly of women. This governing body is supported by:
  • A professional team of 10 administrative and technical staff members
  • Dedicated volunteers who contribute periodically to the Society’s initiatives

Through this multifaceted approach, the Women’s Childcare Society reaffirms its commitment to empowering Palestinian women and children. We continuously strive to uplift our local community through diverse service programs and targeted development projects that create lasting positive impact.
